WHAT IS CORE SWEAT & STRETCH?
Core Sweat & Stretch is a high energy combination of mat pilates exercises to strengthen your CORE, low impact high intensity interval training to make you SWEAT, and a cool-down S-T-R-E-T-C-H to lengthen tight and overworked muscles.
All movement begins with your core – a strong core provides stability for your spine, hips, pelvis and shoulders. The stronger your core, the better your body works, looks and feels.
The aim of this class is to strengthen your core – the overlapping layers of muscles that extend from your neck to your pelvis, including all the muscles of your abdomen, back, hips and pelvic floor – whilst creating a balanced body by stretching out muscles shortened as a result of poor posture or body alignment, work habits and lifestyle.
Core Sweat & Stretch is the perfect class to start with if commencing your fitness journey, or to add to and complement what you are already doing. You will learn how to activate and engage your deepest postural, core and pelvic floor muscles; improve your sense of balance and develop a balanced body; gain in range of movement in both muscles and joints; and heighten the connection between your mind and your body.
All exercises are performed without shoes, we keep things LOW impact (no jumping), and use a few lightweight props. Children are very welcome to attend (just please keep a close eye on them).
